Thank you for shopping with The Chippy Box Co. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This policy outlines your rights and our procedures regarding returns, replacements, and refunds.
1. Overview
The Chippy Box Co supplies both custom-branded and stock food packaging products to trade customers and businesses across the UK.
Because of the nature of our products — particularly custom-printed, bespoke, or food-contact packaging — returns are subject to specific conditions to ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and manufacturing regulations.
2. Custom & Bespoke Orders
Custom or bespoke products — including but not limited to items printed with your logo, design, or brand — are made to order and therefore non-refundable unless the goods are:
Faulty or damaged upon arrival, or
Do not match the approved proof or specification provided before production.
Once a proof has been approved and production has begun, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded, as materials and production costs are immediately incurred.
If your custom order arrives with a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 7 working days of delivery. We may request photos, batch codes, or samples to assess the issue before arranging a replacement or partial refund.
3. Stock Products
If you have purchased standard stock items (non-customised products), you may request to return them under the following conditions:
You must notify us within 14 days of receiving your order.
Goods must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging.
Items must be in a resalable condition, as required for food-contact packaging.
Once approved, returns must be sent back to us within 14 days of your request. You will be responsible for return shipping costs unless the goods are faulty or incorrect.
Refunds for stock products will be processed within 14 working days after we receive and inspect the returned goods.
4. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please notify us within 7 working days of delivery by emailing info@chippybox.co.uk with:
Your order number
Details of the issue
Photographic evidence where possible
Depending on the situation, we may offer:
A replacement of the affected items
A partial refund
Or a full refund if the entire order is affected
We may arrange collection of the faulty goods or request that they be securely disposed of, depending on the nature of the issue.
5. Hygiene and Food Safety
For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of any food-contact packaging (such as boxes, greaseproof paper, or bags) once opened or handled, unless the item is defective.
This ensures that all packaging we resell or replace remains safe and compliant with UK food packaging standards.
6. Order Cancellations
Before Dispatch:
If you wish to cancel a stock order before it is dispatched, please contact us immediately at info@chippybox.co.uk.
If the order has not yet been processed, a full refund will be issued.
Once an order has been dispatched, it will be treated as a return under Section 3 above.
Custom Orders:
Custom orders cannot be cancelled once artwork has been approved or production has started.
7. Return Procedure
To initiate a return or report an issue:
Contact us via email at info@chippybox.co.uk with your order number and details.
We’ll confirm whether your return is eligible and provide instructions.
If approved, you will receive a returns reference number and shipping address.
Package goods securely to prevent damage in transit.
Returns sent without prior approval or without a reference number may not be processed.
8. Refunds
Refunds will be processed using the same payment method you used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.
Please allow up to 14 working days from the date we receive your returned goods for funds to appear in your account.
9. Trade & Business Customers
Please note that most transactions with The Chippy Box Co are business-to-business (B2B) sales.
Under UK law, Consumer Contracts Regulations relating to cooling-off periods do not apply to B2B transactions.
However, we strive to handle all returns fairly and in line with best commercial practice.
